a solas y a dos

a solas y a dos

a solas y a dos - alone and together: Flamencos en route puts the dialogue at the center of their newest choreograpic experiment. An obliging eye contact is generated, an imminent language of the bodies, a danced conversation. A lonely self seeks a connection and resonance in a partner.

Wenn nichts mehr
an den Wörtern liegt
sagst du, erfinde ich
für uns eine Sprache
aus Haut und Haar

Sprich mit den Händen
so hell du kannst
mit den mondblauen Händen
ich höre mich, reglos
dir zu

(Andreas Neeser)

At the same time the dialogic form is an approach of dance and word - an attempt to charge and touch the dance with words, be it lyrics or contemporary poetry. The choreography explores poems by the Swiss author Andreas Neeser whose poems show a graphic quality as is they were leaving danced traces.
In a first series of performances this "work in progress" tries to fulfill the bridging from dance to word: it is an act of balance overlapping these different art genres.

Dance interwoven with text

The bridge linking dance and word purposely creates a holistic experience. The subtitle “DanceImagesWords – WordImagesDances for 2 female and 2 male dancers” spells it out precisely….. Images, when combined with the words of Argovian poet Andreas Neeser, transform themselves into dances. One art form energizes the other, embraces it, deepens it, intensifies it – a very modern form of creation. Clearly, the experiment is a success.

Poetry that makes sense

….in outstanding fashion, the piece successfully builds a bridge between flamenco of the first order and Andreas Neeser’s poetry. The merging opposites create their own language, “sensual and skin-deep” – in accordance with the intentions of the poet, whose words inspired the piece. Alternating between slow and fast, superficial and cryptic as well as distinct and indistinct elements, the piece juxtaposes various dialogue contrasts. What begins like a harmless flirt thus ends in a wonderful and aimless symbiosis of dance and poetry.
